1. Introduction
Today's readings teach us three essential principles for our walk with God:
✅ Following God's direction (Numbers 10-11)
✅ Betrayal and faithfulness to Christ (Mark 14)
✅ True repentance (Psalm 51)
✅ The importance of our words (Proverbs 10)
May the Holy Spirit enlighten us and transform our hearts!
2. Study of the Bible Passages
A. Numbers 10:1-11:23 – Following God's Direction
- The silver trumpets to guide the people (Numbers 10:1-10)
- God gave precise instructions on when to move and when to stop.
- Principle: God still guides us today; we must remain attentive to His voice.
- Israel’s journey through the wilderness (Numbers 10:11-36)
- Moses asks Hobab for help in finding the way, but God Himself is their guide.
- Principle: We must put our trust in God rather than in our own strength.
- The people's complaints and lack of faith (Numbers 11:1-23)
- The people complain about the lack of meat and doubt God's power.
- Principle: Ingratitude and doubt distance us from God's blessings.
✅ Discussion:
- How can we be more sensitive to God's direction?
- What are the dangers of complaining against God and His plans?
B. Mark 14:1-21 – Betrayal and Faithfulness
- Mary’s act of worship and the plot against Jesus (v.1-11)
- Mary pours expensive perfume on Jesus, an act of love and gratitude.
- Judas, on the other hand, decides to betray Jesus for money.
- Principle: We must choose between sincere love for God and the deceptive attractions of the world.
- The Last Supper and the announcement of betrayal (v.12-21)
- Jesus shares the meal with His disciples and reveals that one of them will betray Him.
- Principle: God knows every heart, and faithfulness is a personal choice.
✅ Discussion:
- How can we, like Mary, demonstrate sincere love for Jesus?
- What are the dangers of a faith that is motivated by personal interests?
C. Psalm 51:1-19 – True Repentance
- David acknowledges his sin and pleads for God's mercy (v.1-6).
- He asks God to give him a pure heart and a renewed spirit (v.7-12).
- He promises to teach others and to sincerely praise God (v.13-19).
- Principle: True repentance is not just words; it transforms the heart and life.
✅ Discussion:
- Why is it important to confess our sins and ask God for a pure heart?
- How can we reflect true repentance in our daily lives?
D. Proverbs 10:31-32 – The Power of Our Words
- The righteous speak with wisdom and truth (v.31).
- The lips of the wicked deceive and lead to destruction (v.32).
- Principle: Our words reflect the state of our hearts and should glorify God.
✅ Discussion:
- How can we use our words to build up rather than tear down?
- How can we cultivate wisdom in our speech?
3. Conclusion and Application
